A letter from a donor family

I am writing to express my appreciation for your valiant efforts to save the life of my little girl on October 30 and 31. I want to thank the nurse that sat with her for hours on end, and cried right along with me when we had to make hard decisions. I want to thank all of you for the care you administered to Myndie in her last hours of life and for contacting LifeLink which gave us the only bright spot we will ever find in this senseless tragedy, the death of a young child so full of life.

I am glad we were given the opportunity to choose to help others even through our tremendous grief. She would have wanted it this way. Because of her, a doctor who was on dialysis is now back at work helping to heal others, a father was able to live to see his daughter's wedding, a young grandmother is able to spend time with her little grandchildren, someone else now has the gift of sight and another father will live to see his little girls grow up and to be able to be there for them when they need him.

Now, part of her with God, part of her gone and part of her living out there somewhere... still loving, still being generous. Somewhere out there a little girl's heart still gives life. Somewhere out there her happy little heart is still beating. And you, doctor, hospital staff, LifeLink, have given us a little bright spot through all of this to hold on to. Still beating out there somewhere.

Thank You!

Melody
