About us

LifeLink Tissue Bank is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to serving patients in need of transplantation therapy. It is one of six divisions of the LifeLink Foundation.

Our goal

To provide the safest, most clinically effective allografts while remaining cognizant of the rising cost of medical care.

  • LifeLink Tissue Bank was established in 1985.
  • LifeLink Tissue Bank is the largest not-for-profit tissue bank in the Southeast and one of the largest in the United States.
  • More than half a million grafts have been placed with no report of disease transmission.
  • LifeLink Tissue Bank is inspected and accredited by The American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB).

We work closely with the following:

  • Donor Families: Donors and their families are the core of our organization. We treat them with respect, show them compassion, and offer them comfort in knowing that their confidentiality is protected and their gifts optimally utilized.
  • Patients/Tissue Transplant Recipients: Recipients are our responsibility and returning them to a healthy life style is our goal. Every step is taken to ensure safety and allograft integrity from the recovery process to the stringent state-of-the art quality assurance processes.
  • Recovery Partners: LifeLink provides fully integrated and customized services to its Recovery Partners which allow them to better serve the needs of their community.
  • Employees: Our employees make up the foundation of our organization meeting the needs of patients by making available safe, high quality allografts. LifeLink values employees as individuals, cherishes their families, furthers their knowledge, compensates them fairly and expands their opportunities.
  • Physicians and Hospitals: Our allografts are utilized by surgeons and hospitals that trust LifeLink to provide them with safe and clinically effective allografts. Every effort is made to ensure that our allografts are placed back in the hospitals of the communities that we serve with organ and tissue recovery services.
